Voluntary Participation

Participation in all event activities—including dance lessons, social dancing, movement activities, and other programming—is entirely voluntary. You are responsible for participating within your own physical abilities, experience level, and comfort.

Assumption of Risk

You understand that participation in dance, movement, and outdoor public events involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, collisions with other participants, muscle strains, illness, weather conditions, uneven surfaces, property damage, or loss of personal belongings.

By choosing to participate, you knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks associated with attending and participating in this event.

Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you release, waive, and hold harmless Rhythm of The People, its fiscally sponsored charitable program, fiscal sponsor, venue partners, community partners, sponsors, instructors, DJs, volunteers, contractors, employees, agents, representatives, and affiliates from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses arising out of or relating to your attendance or participation in this event, except to the extent such claims result from gross negligence or intentional misconduct.

Participant Responsibility

To help create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone, participants agree to:

• Participate responsibly and within their own abilities.
• Respect fellow participants, instructors, volunteers, and event staff.
• Follow any safety instructions or requests from event organizers.
• Exercise reasonable care for themselves and those around them.

Rhythm of The People reserves the right to ask any participant engaging in unsafe, disruptive, or inappropriate behavior to leave the event - please see our House Rules.

Photography & Videography

Photography, videography, and audio recording may occur throughout the event.

By attending, you acknowledge that your image, voice, or likeness may appear in photographs or recordings documenting the event and grant Rhythm of The People permission to use these materials for educational, promotional, archival, fundraising, grant reporting, marketing, and other mission-related purposes without compensation.

If you prefer not to appear in promotional materials, please notify a member of the event team upon arrival. We will make every reasonable effort to accommodate your request, although we cannot guarantee that your likeness will not appear incidentally in crowd photography or video.

Parents or guardians who do not wish for their child to be photographed or filmed should notify event staff before participating. We do not intentionally feature recognizable images of minors in promotional materials without parent or guardian permission.

Acceptance of Terms

By attending or participating in this event, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Participant Waiver, Assumption of Risk, and Media Notice, and voluntarily agree to its terms.

If you do not agree to these terms, please do not participate in event activities or enter the designated event area.
